Britney Spears: Trouble/Gimme More (VMA Mix)

This is the version of Gimme More that was lip synched at the VMAs. The intro to the song is a bit from one of Elvis Presley's songs. I'm actually liking this more than the original version (partly because they don't have danja in it).

Download Trouble/Gimme More: Here

Kellie Pickler - Santa Baby

I know that it's a couple of days after Christmas, but here's probably the last christmas song I'm posting for this year. Country Singer and former American Idol performer Kellie Pickler has done a version of the song Santa Baby to rival that of Ertha Kit and Madonna's versions. I actually like this version of the song, so enjoy it!

Chris Brown - With You

This is the new single from Chris Brown's album Exclusive. Again, I'm not normally a fan of his, but this song is just a great romance song. I'm definately loving the lyrics and the acoustic guitar.

Sara Bareilles - Love Song

Another artist who is doing well on iTunes. Sara Bareilles is an artist of similar style to Colbie Caillat, except that she uses slightly more instruments. Her single Love Song, is upbeat, kind of old style pop, and is a sweet song that I'm definately loving. It's a nice break from the dance tracks we're getting these days (although I enjoy those too). Enjoy!

Download Love Song: Here

Colbie Caillat - Bubbly & Realize

Singer of one of the most popular songs where I'm at, Colbie Caillat uses mainly acoustic guitars and maybe a bass guitar and occasionally a soft drum to her songs. Bubbly isn't my personal favorite from her, but it is popular and is number 9 on iTunes. Realize is a darker song, but this one I actually like. There is a male vocalist in this whose identity I don't know, but it adds to make a great song. Enjoy!

Download Bubbly: Here
Download Realize: Here

Imogen Heap - Hide And Seek

I'm guessing that a few people might have heard of Imogen Heap (or Frou Frou, the lead vocalist is the same). She sang one of the songs for The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. She has a very electronic sound to her, like she personaly went through and recorded every single note and digitally perfected it, making for a very interesting sound. So, I've uploaded one of my favorite songs from her - Hide and Seek. Everything you head in this song is her voice, just most of it is digitally altered to make other sounds. Enjoy!

Best From - Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton is... well... many unprintable things, I guess, and a few printable. Her debut album came out last year, and it didn't do too well, but I think its just because people never even gave it a shot. I'm sure that there's at least one song on there that people would like. The album is primarily dance, and seems to be a cross between Britney Spears, Hilary Duff, Lindsey Lohan, and Ferige (not much, but if you listen to Glamorous and one of the songs that I'm not posting [I think it's heartbeat] you'll see what I mean).

My favorite song on the album is Nothing In This World. It's just a happy, (probably the least stuck up) song, that never fails to cheer me up. Anyways, I'm not posting the whole album, just the tracks from the cd that I though were good. Enjoy!

1) Turn It Up
4) I Want You
7) Nothing In This World
8) Screwed
9) Not Leaving Without You
10) Turn You On

Janet Jackson - Feedback

This is the new song from Janet Jackson. I normally don't like much of what she does, but this song is definately hot! It is kind of reminiscent of a Britney Spears song, but it is still amazing. I'm pretty sure that this will be an awesome single when it is released.

Cascada - Perfect Day (album)

Here's the sophomore album from the German dance group - Cascada. It's got a couple of good songs on there. I'm sure that a couple of them will grow on me, but it isn't a bad cd overall.

1) What Hurts The Most
2) Runaway

Saturday, December 15, 2007

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. School kind of took over and I haven't really had time to upload anything. I'm definately going to try to put up some stuff this weekend, and then starting next thursday I'll be able to post more frequently.

Here's the new Britney Spears music video for Piece of Me. It's definately better than the video for Gimme More.

Quietdrive - Time After Time

Quietdrive is a relatively unknown band that has a decent song here or there. My current fav is one of the songs on their cd: Time After Time. It's pretty much the only song on the cd that I like, but it is an awesome song that I'm pretty sure everyone will like, so, enjoy.

Will's Life Christmas Playlist

Last year I burnt a Christmas cd with mostly recent Christmas music on it, and I think that all of you will enjoy it. I have the songs on individual download for everyone so that they don't have to redownload songs if they already have them.

Here is the tracklist:
Poll Update!!!
First off, thank you to everyone who has voted. I'd like to get as wide of an audience for this as possible. So far, Gimme More is still in first with 8 votes. Umbrella is in 2nd place with 7 votes, and Girlfriend in 3rd with 6 votes. Potential Breakup Song is in 4th with 1 vote, and last, and most certainly least, Beautiful girl is in last with zero votes.

The Veronicas - Hook Me Up; poll update

This album has been around for a while, but I love it, so I'm posting it. The Veronicas's first album was a huge success, and its lead single was featured in the soundtracks of several movies including She's The Man. Here's their sophomore album, which has a slightly more electronic sound.

Download Album: Here

Download Everything (Bonus Track): Here

Download Insomnia (Bonus Track): Here

Poll Update!

So far, Gimme More is winning with Umbrella and Girlfriend tied for second. If you know people who are into music blogs and such, tell them to stop by and vote, because I'm trying to get a large opinion sample.

Single of The Year

Here's a new thing that I'm doing. Each week, I'm going to post a poll with about five singles this year that were reasonably successful. I'm also going to upload the singles for everyone to download and listen to before they vote. After each week, I'll take the first and second place singles and put them in another list with three other singles and let the voting begin. At the end of the year, I'll post the album of the artist with the most successful single on it.

This weeks entries:

Umbrella by Rihanna

Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne

Potential Break Up Song by Aly & AJ

Gimme More by Britney Spears

Beautiful Girl by Sean Kingston

Let me know what you guys think, and if you have any suggestions, let me know.

Trading Yesterday: More Than This

Trading Yesterday's first EP which was unfortunately shelved. This album took the best of The Beauty and The Tragedy and rerecorded it and mixed it with entirely new songs. The only song that I think was better as a demo is Love Song Requiem, which is still good. I've put up a bonus track which will actually be on their band's new cd coming next year under the band name of The Age of Information.

1) Revolution
2) One Day
3) She Is The Sunlight
4) Under My Skin
5) May I
6) My Last Goodbye
7) Love Song Requiem
8) Come Back To Me
9) For You Only
10) World On Fire
11) Change My Name
12) The Beauty & The Tragedy
13) Shattered

14) Just A Little Girl (Bonus Track)

Trading Yesterday: The Beauty & The Tragedy

Trading Yesterday is an underground group that people should know about but don't. The lead singer is an ex-member of Evanescence, and he's done rather well with his efforts. This is the demo cd by the group, and some of the songs on here are just amazing. Enjoy!

1) One Day (Demo Version)
2) The Beauty and The Tragedy (Demo Version)
3) What I'm Dreaming Of
4) Nothing But Love
5) She Is The Sunlight (Demo Version)
6) World On Fire (Demo Version)
7) Love Song Requiem (Demo Version)
8) Desert Lands
9) Elizabeth
10) Shattered (Demo Version)

Within Temptation: Somewhere

A group with a sound similar to Evanescence, Within Temptation has been around for a while, but are less known. They have a few amazing songs here and there, and this is one of them. From their album, The Silent Force, the song Somewhere sounds out the most to me.

Britney Spears: Outta This World

Possibly one of the last Bonus Tracks from her album, Britney rounds it out nicely with Outta This World. It's not my favorite song from her, but it's far from horrible. I like it better than I like Why Should I be sad. Enjoy.

Cascada: What Hurts The Most (radio edit)

Cascada is one of my favorite dance groups, and they are coming out with a new cd later this year titled Perfect Day. Anyways, their first single has leaked, and it's a cover of the song made famous by Rascal Flats: What Hurts The Most. Personally, this is amazing cover, and I'd listen to it over and over in a heartbeat.

Britney Spears: Blackout With Bonus Tracks

So, the Princess of Pop is back with an amazing cd. I have all of the songs up here to download invidually. I also have my reviews of the songs by them.
1. Gimme More: 4/5. Its her first single, and an awesome song. Gotta love it. Its catchy, its hot, and I love it.
2. Piece of Me: 5/5. Easy single material, this song goes on about her life and how she's been in the news a lot lately. Basically, she's saying, "I can take whatever it is you can throw at me." I love it.
3. Radar: 4/5. Another easy single. Its got a great dance beat to it, and can easilly be played in clubs anywhere. The only reason that this song is 4/5 instead of full points is that it can get old if you listen to it too much.
4. Break The Ice: 5/5. Slotted to be the second single, this song is HOT. It's my current favorite on the album. The only complaint I have about it is that they don't bring back the drum beat at the end of the song.
5. Heaven on Earth: 4/5. Still a dance tune, but not necessarilly quite like the other songs. This one isn't quite as slutty as some of the others. Its almost like a love song, dance style. I really like it.
6. Get Naked (I Got A Plan): 1/5. Not the worst song on the album, but close to it. It just gets really annoying after a while. Danja in the beginning is okay, and the background music is okay, but the whole song is just to Paris Hilton-y for me.
7. Freakshow: 5/5. Not necessarilly single material, and apparently, not too many people like it, but I love this Song. It is a little repetative, and it reaks of paris, but its upbeat, its fun, and even though the whole thing is computerized, its catchy, and great to listen to in a car.
8. Toy Soldier: 3/5. Again, not the worst song on the album. Actually, the chorus is the only thing that ticks me off. The whole synthesized snare drum thing just irritates me to no end. Everything else is okay.
9. Hot as Ice: 4/5. It is much improved after the demo, which was just irritating. This version is a half pitch lower, and just sounds better all around. Its uptempo, but can't compete with Freakshow. Still, its a good song.
10. Ooh Ooh Baby: 4/5. It's a Radar clone with acoustic guitar. Still, I like the song. Could easilly be a single, however, the same warning applies to this as does Radar: it gets old quickly, and since is sounds so similar to Radar, you get tired of them. Still, this one has some interesting things in it.
11. Perfect Lover: 4/5. I liked this song when it was released as a demo, and not much has been done to it since. It's a decent song, but definately not single material. Kind of like a better Get Naked really.
12. Why Should I Be Sad: 1/5. Possibly the worst song on the album. Honestly, it just annoys the crap out of me, I don't know why. Possibly because it sounds like a highly breathy Janet Jackson or Ciara. It's about K-Fed (pig), and there are so many other songs she could have done about him.
13. Get Back: 5/5. At first, I didn't like the song, but now I do. It is catchy, and an easy dance song. Honestly, this could have replaced a few songs on the album or be a single, but who knows. The demo of this song has undergone a slight upgrade, including a hot new intro.
14. Everybody: 4/5. As my brother said, the intro makes it sound like some bad 80's chinese thing, but whatev. This song is good, and was one of my favorites as a demo. Uptempo, and another dance song, I like it.
Overall Album rating: 5/5. Britney's done it again. She has an amazing album that will sell many copies.

Ray of Light

Back in 1997, madonna recorded the song Ray of Light. Personally, this and vouge are my favorites from her. This year, Natasha Beddingfield did a cover of the song. Personally, the original is better, but the cover isn't bad. Tell me what you think.

The Veronicas: Hook Me Up Music Video.

The Veronicas are one of my favorite groups, and this is the music video for their new single. I didn't like it at first, but after a few listens, I like it a lot more now than I did. Enjoy.

Avril Lavigne: Alone

This B-Side from Avril's new album was leaked a while ago, but I still like it, and felt like posting it. It is more like her older stuff than most of the other tracks on the album, but still retains a little of the new sound. I love the song, and I hope everyone else does too.

Christina Aguilera Emmy Performance

Yeah, I just thought this is amazing. Christina Aguilera is one of the pop artists that I can truly respect. God that woman has an amazing voice. She is more real than sooo many other vocalists, and she just keeps on getting better and better. Here's the video from her performance last night at the emmys.

Saosin

This is a band that you may or may not know. Idk. but anyways, I was introduced to this band the night before I went to a bar to see them live. Anyways, they rocked. Saosin is relatively new, and I must say that I loved two of the songs on their album.

Celine Dion - Taking Chances

Celine Dion, possibly one of the best female vocalists around is back. After working with Timbaland and Ben Moody, she is preparing to release another english album, titled Taking Chances. The first song to leak from the cd is the title song. After the first listne, I thought it was ok, but after listening to it several times, I really love it now.

Introduction

Hey, since I'm new here and nobody knows me, here's the introduction. My names Will, and I love music. I saw all of these other music blogs and decided to try making one of my own while putting my own spin on it. It might get to the point where I can do requests and stuff like that, but who knows. I'm trying to make a blog that shows my taste of music mixed with the new stuff. So, hope everyone enjoys.

I'll start by posting what is so far the hottest single of the year: Umbrella by Rihanna.
